Our Process

Much like the ‘A-Team’, we love it when a plan comes together.

At Brown Advertising, we use a proven process in our approach to design and development. From years of experience, narrowing the process down into our four main steps helps ensure a successful and effective solution to your project.

Discover

Our first step is to meet, in person or over the phone, to discuss the project. We take the time to listen to our clients and understand their needs and goals. This step is important to establish a project scope and make sure everyone is on the same page.

Objectives:
• Define the project goals
• Discuss design direction
• Provide Estimate and Project Schedule

Design

Before design officially begins, we research the client’s industry and competitors to gain proper perspective. We then conceptualize by sketching out ideas and possible solutions — and continue to refine them as we narrow down to most effective solutions. We follow modern web conventions and best practices in User Experience Design to develop wire frames and mockups. Once complete, mockups are sent to client for review and any changes are made—normally up to two rounds of revisions are included in the Estimate.

Objectives:
• Determine site structure and layout (wire frames)
• Produce design mockup for client approval

Develop

Once the design mockups are approved, then we move into the nuts and bolts of the project, the development phase. Here the design is coded into HTML/CSS and integrated into a Content Management System (CMS). This is the point where pages are built and linked and any features such as photo galleries, e-commerce, contact forms, Google maps and other technical elements are implemented. Once the website has been coded and content added, we send the client a private link to proof the website and make final changes before launch.

Objectives:
• Produce a fully-working prototype for client approval
• Test functionality across all popular browsers

Deploy

Once final changes are made and client gives approval to go live, we take the necessary technical steps to launch the website and preform final testing of all features. We provide client training on using the Content Management System and offer Complimentary Support for 30 days after launch.

Objectives:
• Final testing and monitoring
• Training on using the CMS
• Celebrate!
